Mercury Mexico Adds Capacity
July 15, 2008
Mercury is proud to announce the addition of turret press capacity and press brake capacity
in its Guadalajara facility.
Mercury has added two brand new state-of-the-art Weidemann Motorum Turret Punch Presses.
In addition they have added two additional Trumpf Trumabend Press Brakes.
"The Motorums allow us to do many things that used to require secondary operations," says
Glenn Davis, Senior Engineer. "We can now do things such as upforming and tapping that we
couldn't do on a turret press before. The Motorums combine the ease of maintenance of a
mechanical turret with the ability to slow the speed down like a hydraulic. What is icing
on the cake is the efficiency in both production and energy that we gain over previous
technologies.
Additional equipment to be added in 2008 includes a new Fabrivision scanner, spot welding
equipment, and other miscellaneous tools to support the growing customer base.
"The addition of all of this equipment will help us to gain additional efficiencies in
production and better economies of scale on all of our processes," says Jorge Gonzalez,
General Manager of Mercury Mexico. "This plant is growing at a phenomenal rate and we
want to stay ahead of the market."
